Pink Neon Aztec Nail Art | Life Update

So you're probably wondering where i've disappeared to aren't you? I wish I could say i've been on holiday, somewhere nice and sunny.. but I can't. I've been working non stop at the moment, pretty much all day every day. My manager has unfortunately been taken in to hospital so I'm stepping in until she's well enough to return to work. So it's been a bit of a stressful time, especially with a shop flip and stock take going on, so understandably my nails have had to take a back seat.

In fact, in the past week and a half i've only painted them once. Yup, you read that right. Once. So I figured I might as well show you them! This was a really quick nail art look using two bright pink neon polishes from Claire's Accessories and of course Barry M black & white nail art pens. Oh! I did have the time to change my nail shape though.. goodbye square nails! Let me know what you think :)

I honestly can't say when i'll be posting frequently again. These next two weeks are going to be manic at work, so i'll probably only post once or twice. Things will calm down after my stock take though, so please be patient with me! I think after it's all over i'll have to treat myself to a nail polish splurge ;)

Claire's Accessories | Green Neon Nail Art

Due to a lot of polish being marked down to £1 at work, we've been getting a LOT of swanky new styles coming in to take their place over the past week. As all cosmetics are currently on a 3 for 2 offer, I have of course been stocking up. I've prepared two Markdown posts to show you all, with 12 polishes in total. I've still got a couple left to swatch so they should hopefully be posted in the next couple of days. I've also been buying the newbies, which i'll be showing off afterwards! I purely bought such a large amount to show them all off to you, the things I do for the sake of my blog huh? :P

Anyway! Here's a simple nail art manicure showing you a sneaky peak at two new Neon polishes. Despite how easy and quick this was I'm pretty happy with it! Really enjoying wearing bright colours at the moment :)

For this look I used:
Claire's Accessories - White Neon Pale Green
Claire's Accessories - Neon Pinball
Barry M - White Nail Art Pen
Claire's Accessories - Gel Top Coat

Bright huh? I've got a few of the neon collection so I won't go in to detail about the polish now, i'll save it til later on. I'm enjoying posting a lot again, I think the influx of amazing polish at work has kicked my bum back in to gear! Want a sneaky peak at some newbies? Course you do ;)

Excited much? :) Will be posting the £1 swatches soon and then these beauties so keep an eye out!

Barry M Silk Effect Mist | Re Used Manicure

Just a simple look today, re-using yesterday's pinkie and index finger with the Colour Clash glitter gradient. I picked up one of the new Barry M Silk Collection polishes yesterday, and after testing it will definitely be going back for more! I bought the light blue polish called Mist. Apparently i've got a thing for blues because i seem to have double the amount than any other colour in my collection. Anyway, i digress.

Application of this polish was pretty dreamy. It slides on the nail smoothly, and is the perfect consistency. It is on the sheer side as most bloggers have already mentioned, so i waited patiently and applied three thin coats. It wasn't until editing the photos I realised i had an air bubble on my ring finger, and I'm not quite sure how that happened. Lets just call it a one off, it certainly doesn't put me off the polish anyway. I didn't apply topcoat as I didn't want to ruin the matte silky finish :)

On with the photos!

Well that's enough photo spam for today! What do you think.. Do you prefer today's toned down look or yesterdays glitter frenzy manicure? I think this look was a little more me. Plus I loved running my finger over the silky texture, it's so soft!

Til next time, Becky x

Claire's Accessories Neon Purple Nail Art!

I think by now you all know how much I love using my nifty staff discount to pick up nail polish from work. Today was my last shift after 11 in a row, so i thought that deserved a little treat for myself! We got a new Neon polish in yesterday so i picked it up ready for some nail art for today. It's ultimately the perfect Claire's Accessories purple colour, and looks a million times yummier on your nails!

I went for a gradient and accidentally went further on the blue than purple, so I haven't exactly done a great job of showing off the polish haha! But don't worry, i'm working on a big ol' Claire's swatch post.. so stay tuned for that bad boy :P

For this look I used:
Claire's Accessories - Neon Purple
Sinful Colours - Why Not
Barry M - Black & White Nail Art Pens
Claire's Accessories - Gel Top Coat

Ohh, and look what we had today.. SUN! Was certainly happy to step outside and walk to work in glorious sunshine, even if it was still a little on the cold side. I'll ignore the fact it started raining half an hour later ;)

If you're interested Claire's have a range of about 8 Neon Polish colours at £3 for a bottle. Darker colours can be a one coater (a thick coat) and the lighter colours (yellow and orange) are best painted over a white.

Til next time! Becky x

All That Glitters Is Gold!

Hi there!

Today i have a really quick and easy manicure to show you.. that looks super glamorous! I used three polishes for this look and it took me less than an hour to do, and that's with a coffee break :P

To create this look i used these beauties..

W7 - Gold Dazzle
Barry M Texture - Countess
Max Factor - Fantasy Fire

Want to see photos now? Yeaaaah!

I know that Countess had been swatched eeeverywhere lately so i popped over a light coat of Fantasy Fire to bring out some red glitter as well. I then dabbed on some Gold Dazzle with a makeup sponge and voila.. super glitzy autumn nails :)

As much as i love the texture of this polish i had to pop on a topcoat, and i definitely prefer it this way. It really makes the glitter pop!

Which do you prefer? :)

33 Day Challenge: South America

Hi guys!

Now i must admit i was actually dreading this challenge as i didn't have the foggiest idea what manicure to create. However after talking to my good friend google, i finally thought of a design! My thought process went a little like this.. South America is known for > Amazon Rainforest. Amazon is known for > Lots of interesting animals. Amazon animals on google > Tree frog. And uh, that's what i went with!

To create this look i used:
Sinful Colors - Courtney Orange
Miss Sporty - Pop Fiction (Clubbing Colours)
Barry M - Black Nail Art Pen
Seche Vite - Top Coat

And here is the manicure and also a little pic of the fella that inspired it :)

Isn't he a cutie?!

So that's it for today's post, hope you liked it!

33 Day Challenge: A Pattern In Your Home

Hello there!

So today's challenge is to create a mani inspired by a pattern in your home. I thought this was a great idea.. until i realised there isn't a single pattern in my home. The walls are block colours, there isn't a single print on any curtains, sofa's.. even my bed sheet. So, as i was sat watching Homeland earlier and enjoying a cup of tea it hit me.. Let's do a design inspired by my Nightmare Before Christmas mug!

And so, well.. that's what i did.

I can't say i'm over the moon with this design but i do think it matches the mug pretty well! To do this i used a black Claire's Accessories base, then coated that with Sinful Colors - Nail Junkie. I sealed this with Seche Vite and then started sponging on a lime green Claire's polish. I used a Barry M nail art pen to freehand the designs.

Here's a couple of pics to show you how gorgeous Nail Junkie looks over black polish!

Well that's it for today, will hopefully post the ELF swatch on Sunday!
