On Wednesdays We Wear Pink..

So if you didn't already know, today is the 10th Anniversary of Mean Girls.. potentially the most quoted film by women of all time.

To celebrate this, nail bloggers are creating a pink mani to go along with the quote 'On Wednesdays we wear pink'. What's not to like? Pink Polish + Mean Girls inspired = Sheer Awesomeness.

To start with I used Sinful Colors - 24/7 as a base. I've included a couple of photos just to show off how incredibly bright this polish is, it's my favourite neon! I applied two coats with a Claire's - Gel Top Coat.

And then, just because I couldn't leave it alone.. I did some nail art, burn book style :P

I used Barry M nail art pens and some sharpies to create the nail art, and again sealed it with a Gel Top Coat. Hope you like it! Oh, and if you don't own 24/7, then you have to buy it.. I promise you wont be disappointed, plus it's only £2!

And last but not least, I'm ending this post in the best way possible..
Enjoy!

Guess Who!

Hello there!

So uh, it's been a little while hasn't it? As I mentioned in my last post I've been extremely busy at work, stepping in as duty manager for the past month. This wouldn't have been quite so bad if we weren't in the middle of a shop change and a stock take.. but I've somehow made it through haha!

Obviously I haven't had any time for blogging, and I can honestly say i've painted my nails about 3 or 4 times over the past month. Yuck! It hasn't stopped me from buying polish however.. I've managed to accumulate around 20 new beautiful polishes for my collection which i'll share with you soon. Oh, and I might possibly have bought myself a brand spanking new bridge camera.. my bad :P

For now I've got a quick nail look to show you, hopefully I'll be back to full time blogging over the next couple of weeks!

For this look I used:

Claire's - White
Claire's - Epic Fail (Green)
Claire's - Fashion Blue
Claire's - Gel Top Coat
Black Sharpie for details

Let's just ignore that stubby little middle finger shall we? Suffered a rather nasty break and i'm in denial about how bad it looks ;)

Til next time, whenever that may be!

Pink Neon Aztec Nail Art | Life Update

So you're probably wondering where i've disappeared to aren't you? I wish I could say i've been on holiday, somewhere nice and sunny.. but I can't. I've been working non stop at the moment, pretty much all day every day. My manager has unfortunately been taken in to hospital so I'm stepping in until she's well enough to return to work. So it's been a bit of a stressful time, especially with a shop flip and stock take going on, so understandably my nails have had to take a back seat.

In fact, in the past week and a half i've only painted them once. Yup, you read that right. Once. So I figured I might as well show you them! This was a really quick nail art look using two bright pink neon polishes from Claire's Accessories and of course Barry M black & white nail art pens. Oh! I did have the time to change my nail shape though.. goodbye square nails! Let me know what you think :)

I honestly can't say when i'll be posting frequently again. These next two weeks are going to be manic at work, so i'll probably only post once or twice. Things will calm down after my stock take though, so please be patient with me! I think after it's all over i'll have to treat myself to a nail polish splurge ;)

Claire's Accessories Neon | Plaid Nail Art

So today's look is a bit more 'in your face' than my last post.. bright green neon plaid to be precise!
I loved how easy it was to create so I went all out this time and actually painted every nail ;)

I used two green neon polishes from Claire's Accessories (bit of a theme recently huh?) and my trusty Barry M nail art pens, all topped off with Seche Vite. I did create a step by step, but I thought it was just too simple. But if you want to see just let me know and i'll post it for you guys!

So which do you prefer.. Full on neon plaid or my last red plaid manicure? I'm personally loving neon right now :)

Claire's Accessories | New Splatter Polish Swatches

I don't know what's happened recently, but apparently i've started to enjoy swatching polish? Who woulda thunk it! Today i've got three gorgeous new splatter polishes from Claire's Accessories to share with you.

I wont lie, these were a bit of a pain in the bum to swatch but I got there in the end. Let's have a look at some photos shall we? Please note all three swatches are shown over a base colour.

First up is a gorgeous neon pink colour called Sprinkles. It's packed with small green & white matte glitter, plus slightly larger blue, green & yellow matte hex glitter. The formula is a little sheer, shown here is just one coat over a Claire's Neon Pink polish. The name is perfect for the polish, it's so fun! I must admit I only bought this to go with the others but i'm glad that I did. I found this had the least amount of glitter on the brush, but nothing a little digging can't fix.

Next up is a beautiful lilac colour called Jazz. It is jam packed with glitter! There's small pink, blue & white matte glitter, larger pink, blue & yellow glitter plus big round blue glitter. Also when on the nail I noticed a really subtle blue splatter, but it's tiny so my camera struggled to pick it up. Again the formula is a little sheer, i've layered one coat over Model's Own Utopia. But my gosh, it's like the glitter is magnetized to the brush! I didn't even have the fish for the round blue glitter!

Lastly we have a perfect summery neon coral colour called Hundreds and Thousands. This has really small red & yellow glitter though out, with slightly bigger blue & white glitter, plus a few big white hex glitter. This formula is thicker than the other two, and can actually easily be used without a base colour. For this though I used one coat over a Claire's Neon Coral polish. This is so bright and pretty, definitely one i'll be wearing a lot once the suns out! (So uh, probably not often..)

Over all I'm really impressed with these three! The glitter pay off is incredible, and I never thought such a random mix of colours could look so good! If I had to suggest just one, it would be Hundreds and Thousands, it just really stands out to me. I did find it a little tricky to get an even coverage when using the polish on their own, but layering over a base colour really helps. All swatches were finished off with Claire's Gel Top Coat. So do you think you'll be buying any, and if so what colour? Let me know in the comments below. Personally I hope they bring out some more soon, a white/cream based polish would look soo pretty!

Til next time,

Rose Floral Nail Art | Barry M Black Multi Glitter

I'm quite excited about today's post because it's my first proper attempt at freehand painting on my nails with acrylic paints! I really fancied some black nails yesterday (because it's totally normal to get colour cravings, right?) but decided to go all out after spotting my floral scarf hung up neatly on the floor.

I'll be honest with you, I really just winged this. I didn't use a reference other than my scarf.. which I ignored anyway. I've taken step by step photos so I might post a tutorial later on this week. But this honestly was just a case of dab paint around, swirl it a bit and hope for the best!

I used Barry M - Black Multi Glitter as a base coat which applies like a dream. I was a little disappointed that the glitter doesn't show through very well, but none the less it's a pretty polish.
Now on with the photos!

I had to post a picture with the scarf in the background! £4 from Primark if you're wondering ;)

And here's a close up of the Barry M polish.. It literally looks like the galaxy in a bottle!

So there we go! I wont mention that these took two hours last night, and only two minutes in to my shift at work to chip.. But hey ho, an excuse for more nail art tonight! Is this something you'd like to see more of? Let me know in the comments, any requests always welcome :)

Luna Love - Space Dust | Rimmel London Swatch

Wanted to start this off with a quick thank you to the beautiful responses I received after my last post. I was obviously a little nervous about posting it but I appreciate all of your kind words, so thank you <3

Moving quickly on because i've got a beautiful polish to show off today! Now I won't lie, this isn't new. It's also been swatched a million times, but in the words of Icona Pop.. I don't care, I love it. I picked this up the other day in Boots as a freebie (thank you 3 for 2!) and it really was an unintentional find. Luna Love is part of Rimmel London's Space Dust collection, and is the only one that I currently own. In the bottle it's a gorgeous deep magenta pink, with insanely sparkly pink and subtle blue shimmer. I'd forgotten it dries to a texture finish, which was a nice surprise for me as i'm still loving the texture craze. I've provided photos with and without top coat, let me know which you prefer!

And here's a couple with top coat.. It really lightens up the pink and makes it pop! Plus I think it brings out the blue glitter a little more, which you can see in the direct sunlight photo. The topcoat I used is my new trusty Claire's Accessories - Gel Top Coat!

That's it for today, pretend you haven't seen this polish before and revel in it's beauty with me :)
Some nail art posts coming up soon so keep an eye out!
