Guess Who!

Hello there!

So uh, it's been a little while hasn't it? As I mentioned in my last post I've been extremely busy at work, stepping in as duty manager for the past month. This wouldn't have been quite so bad if we weren't in the middle of a shop change and a stock take.. but I've somehow made it through haha! 

Obviously I haven't had any time for blogging, and I can honestly say i've painted my nails about 3 or 4 times over the past month. Yuck! It hasn't stopped me from buying polish however.. I've managed to accumulate around 20 new beautiful polishes for my collection which i'll share with you soon. Oh, and I might possibly have bought myself a brand spanking new bridge camera.. my bad :P

For now I've got a quick nail look to show you, hopefully I'll be back to full time blogging over the next couple of weeks!

Let's just ignore that stubby little middle finger shall we? Suffered a rather nasty break and i'm in denial about how bad it looks ;)

Claire's Accessories Neon | Plaid Nail Art

So today's look is a bit more 'in your face' than my last post.. bright green neon plaid to be precise!

I loved how easy it was to create so I went all out this time and actually painted every nail ;) 

I used two green neon polishes from Claire's Accessories (bit of a theme recently huh?) and my trusty Barry M nail art pens, all topped off with Seche Vite. I did create a step by step, but I thought it was just too simple. But if you want to see just let me know and i'll post it for you guys!

So which do you prefer.. Full on neon plaid or my last red plaid manicure? I'm personally loving neon right now :)

Claire's Accessories | Green Neon Nail Art

Due to a lot of polish being marked down to £1 at work, we've been getting a LOT of swanky new styles coming in to take their place over the past week. As all cosmetics are currently on a 3 for 2 offer, I have of course been stocking up. I've prepared two Markdown posts to show you all, with 12 polishes in total. I've still got a couple left to swatch so they should hopefully be posted in the next couple of days. I've also been buying the newbies, which i'll be showing off afterwards! I purely bought such a large amount to show them all off to you, the things I do for the sake of my blog huh? :P

Anyway! Here's a simple nail art manicure showing you a sneaky peak at two new Neon polishes. Despite how easy and quick this was I'm pretty happy with it! Really enjoying wearing bright colours at the moment :)

For this look I used:

Claire's Accessories - Gel Top Coat

Bright huh? I've got a few of the neon collection so I won't go in to detail about the polish now, i'll save it til later on. I'm enjoying posting a lot again, I think the influx of amazing polish at work has kicked my bum back in to gear! Want a sneaky peak at some newbies? Course you do ;)

Bling It On!

Hi there!

Did you find your camera cord? I hear you ask.

Why yes, i sure did!

Here's a couple of snaps of my previous manicure, although this was after a days wear at work so the gems didn't stay quite the same.. *pouts* But i still think it looks okay, not used to that much sparkle on my nails anyway! The polish is Sand Effect - Claire's Accessories, and shown is one coat. I love sand effect polishes and Claire's have released four colours now, all of which are stunning. The gems are also from Claire's and are currently in the sale for only £1.50, with a range of colours.

I actually think i prefer the gems a little more toned down, so either way i'm happy! Should hopefully have start forming a routine soon for when i'll be posting, so keep an eye out. Much love to everyone!

12 DOC Advent Challenge: All Lit Up!

Hi there!

So apparently everything in the world is trying to stop me from blogging. Silly shifts at work, a Zombie virus  bad cold, annd internet problems. But i'm here with the fifth challenge and the sixth has been photographed and ready to edit so should be up soon! I think for my next challenge i'll call it 'The Oh Well' as in.. if i don't do a challenge post then oh well!

Anywho! On to the nails. I can only apologise for the sheer cruddiness of the photos. I blame my camera, my weird kitchen lighting and the fact that i was concentrating more on being able to breathe than getting a good shot for that.

Edit: So, i would take credit for this but i didn't do it. I uploaded this post and then Google alerted me i'd uploaded an 'auto awesome' photo and made it all sparkly and stuff for me. Genuine true story. I'm just as baffled as you are.. but it's pretty so i thought id add it!

Edit again: So apparently google is awesome and are turning christmassy photos even christmassy..er.

Not sure how i feel about this one. I do however looove the green.. it's my first China Glaze and i'm a very happy bunny indeed. It looked a little sheer on the brush but went on really well and could of easily gotten away with one coat if i felt like being lazy! I've been making quite a few purchases from Nail Polish Direct and they've always been fantastic. It's free delivery when you spend £10 (lets face it, thats easily done) and they always have loads on sale. They have so many China Glaze polishes for only £5 at the moment, so definitely head over there! Plus it's super quick delivery, didn't even have time to pout about the wait haha.

Next challenge will hopefully be up tomorrow as my connection in so slooooow. Hope you're all feeling festive!

33 Day Challenge: Art With Your Favourite Brand

Hello!

So i'm pretty excited to share today's post with you guys! I took this challenge two ways.. favourite brand of nail polish and favourite brand in general. So i bring to you.. Sinful Colors - Ben and Jerry's nails! 

I don't think i'm alone in loving Sinful Colors right now. At only £2 for a generous sized bottle, you really can't beat the value. And despite the cheap price, every single bottle i've brought has a gorgeous colour and a really easy application. It was a no brainer to choose this brand!

33 Day Challenge: A Pattern In Your Home

Hello there!

So today's challenge is to create a mani inspired by a pattern in your home. I thought this was a great idea.. until i realised there isn't a single pattern in my home. The walls are block colours, there isn't a single print on any curtains, sofa's.. even my bed sheet. So, as i was sat watching Homeland earlier and enjoying a cup of tea it hit me.. Let's do a design inspired by my Nightmare Before Christmas mug!

And so, well.. that's what i did.

I can't say i'm over the moon with this design but i do think it matches the mug pretty well! To do this i used a black Claire's Accessories base, then coated that with Sinful Colors - Nail Junkie. I sealed this with Seche Vite and then started sponging on a lime green Claire's polish. I used a Barry M nail art pen to freehand the designs.

£1 Polish Wednesday!

Hi there!

So as today is Wednesday i'll be bringing you a swatch and review of another £1 polish! Today is a polish called Sea by Sally Hansen which was used as the base for my 33DC Flowers mani. I found this in my local Poundland, right behind a load of old, gunky, separated polishes. I think i've mentioned before that it's always worth digging deep and checking all of the colours and brands that they have. For every twenty gross looking polishes there should be one pretty one! 

This is a really light green polish, and has a very sheer coverage. In hindsight i really should have painted a white coat on my nails before using this.. but i didn't, and i highly regretted it! If i can, i'll try and get away with one coat of polish. Usually i'll settle on two. But this bad boy.. five coats. FIIIIIIVE!

Before you recoil in horror and vow never to buy this polish.. let me give you some positives. Firstly this drys really quickly, i managed five coats in the time it usually takes to do three. Secondly, well the colour is just gorgeous! It really brightened my day, especially as it was so dull outside that they constantly caught my eye. And thirdly, it smelled really good! I know that's an odd point to make and yeah i probably shouldn't be sniffing nail varnish.. But i wasn't hit with the usual smell, instead an almost floral smell. This is my first polish from Sally Hansen so i can't say if they all smell that way but it was definitely a treat for my ol' nosey!

Anyway on to the pics!

So what do you think? Definitely worth the pound.. but is it worth the effort of five coats? Well, at least it isn't a bank breaker!
