Guess Who!

Hello there!

So uh, it's been a little while hasn't it? As I mentioned in my last post I've been extremely busy at work, stepping in as duty manager for the past month. This wouldn't have been quite so bad if we weren't in the middle of a shop change and a stock take.. but I've somehow made it through haha! 

Obviously I haven't had any time for blogging, and I can honestly say i've painted my nails about 3 or 4 times over the past month. Yuck! It hasn't stopped me from buying polish however.. I've managed to accumulate around 20 new beautiful polishes for my collection which i'll share with you soon. Oh, and I might possibly have bought myself a brand spanking new bridge camera.. my bad :P

For now I've got a quick nail look to show you, hopefully I'll be back to full time blogging over the next couple of weeks!

Let's just ignore that stubby little middle finger shall we? Suffered a rather nasty break and i'm in denial about how bad it looks ;)

Claire's Accessories Neon Purple Nail Art!

I think by now you all know how much I love using my nifty staff discount to pick up nail polish from work. Today was my last shift after 11 in a row, so i thought that deserved a little treat for myself! We got a new Neon polish in yesterday so i picked it up ready for some nail art for today. It's ultimately the perfect Claire's Accessories purple colour, and looks a million times yummier on your nails! 

I went for a gradient and accidentally went further on the blue than purple, so I haven't exactly done a great job of showing off the polish haha! But don't worry, i'm working on a big ol' Claire's swatch post.. so stay tuned for that bad boy :P

Ohh, and look what we had today.. SUN! Was certainly happy to step outside and walk to work in glorious sunshine, even if it was still a little on the cold side. I'll ignore the fact it started raining half an hour later ;)

If you're interested Claire's have a range of about 8 Neon Polish colours at £3 for a bottle. Darker colours can be a one coater (a thick coat) and the lighter colours (yellow and orange) are best painted over a white.

Sinful Colors - Mint Apple Aztec (ish) Nail Art

I promise you i haven't disappeared again.. I'm settling in to a pattern of posting once weekly, and then any other nail art i can fit in will be a little added bonus for you guys. I was preparing to do a 'naked nails' post, as i've been religiously using OPI - Nail Envy for a few weeks now, after recovering from three nasty breaks on my left hand. It was working wonders, until half term hit. If anyone else works in retail and manages to keep their nails long PLEASE let me in on your secret! My nails really do take a battering at work, especially when we have a lot of ear piercings as the hand sanitizer destroys my hands. So of course, i broke a nail. So i now have my nubbins back, shorter than ever. 

Despite this, i still treated myself to a new polish yesterday. Sinful Colors - Mint Apple is a gorgeous pale green, with a really subtle pink shimmer. It's so pretty i wish i'd left my nails bare and not bothered with nail art. But at 11o'clock at night you never make sound decisions! For this look i only used one thick coat but i'd suggest two thin coats for maximum opaqueness.

33 Day Challenge: A Pattern In Your Wardrobe

Hello!

Hope you don't mind this being a day late, hopefully it's worth it! I created a skittle manicure for this challenge, inspired by one of my favourite dresses from ASOS. 

To create this look i used:

Here's a pic of me in the dress (yes, it's a little short!) and the nails to match :) I actually tend to match nails to my outfit anyway, so this is a constant challenge for me!

I used different sections of the dress to create a different look on every nail..

Whatcha think, you like them? Might attempt some more skittle mani's in the future, they're just so time consuming!

33DC - Tribal Nails

Hi again!

So as i mentioned the other day i'm joining in the 33 day challenge.. all be it a little late. Here is my first entry with a tribal inspired manicure. Now i'm not gunna lie.. i'm pretty disappointed with this one. Aztec/tribal nails are my favourite to create, and for some reason this just didn't work for me. I don't know if it's the design, the colours or the fact i did this whilst extremely hungover and couldn't stand the polish fumes any longer. Still, no one is perfect and i know that this challenge will probably bring out the best and worst of me.. but that's why it's called a challenge huh?

So here are the terrible photos of the terrible manicure in all their terrible..ness.

I'm literally shuddering at the thought of posting this.. they look futuristic?! Damn my colour choices. Damn you hangover. 

Okay guys, i swear i can do better than this! Lets summarize this as quickly as possible and then i can try to redeem myself on Wednesday. Two coats of Maybelline, silver Barry M gradient, Barry M nail art pens, Seche Vite top coat.. boom.

Oh well, that's why they invented nail polish remover :)
