Claire's Accessories | New Splatter Polish Swatches

I don't know what's happened recently, but apparently i've started to enjoy swatching polish? Who woulda thunk it! Today i've got three gorgeous new splatter polishes from Claire's Accessories to share with you.

I wont lie, these were a bit of a pain in the bum to swatch but I got there in the end. Let's have a look at some photos shall we? Please note all three swatches are shown over a base colour.

First up is a gorgeous neon pink colour called Sprinkles. It's packed with small green & white matte glitter, plus slightly larger blue, green & yellow matte hex glitter. The formula is a little sheer, shown here is just one coat over a Claire's Neon Pink polish. The name is perfect for the polish, it's so fun! I must admit I only bought this to go with the others but i'm glad that I did. I found this had the least amount of glitter on the brush, but nothing a little digging can't fix.

Next up is a beautiful lilac colour called Jazz. It is jam packed with glitter! There's small pink, blue & white matte glitter, larger pink, blue & yellow glitter plus big round blue glitter. Also when on the nail I noticed a really subtle blue splatter, but it's tiny so my camera struggled to pick it up. Again the formula is a little sheer, i've layered one coat over Model's Own Utopia. But my gosh, it's like the glitter is magnetized to the brush! I didn't even have the fish for the round blue glitter!

Lastly we have a perfect summery neon coral colour called Hundreds and Thousands. This has really small red & yellow glitter though out, with slightly bigger blue & white glitter, plus a few big white hex glitter. This formula is thicker than the other two, and can actually easily be used without a base colour. For this though I used one coat over a Claire's Neon Coral polish. This is so bright and pretty, definitely one i'll be wearing a lot once the suns out! (So uh, probably not often..)

Over all I'm really impressed with these three! The glitter pay off is incredible, and I never thought such a random mix of colours could look so good! If I had to suggest just one, it would be Hundreds and Thousands, it just really stands out to me. I did find it a little tricky to get an even coverage when using the polish on their own, but layering over a base colour really helps. All swatches were finished off with Claire's Gel Top Coat. So do you think you'll be buying any, and if so what colour? Let me know in the comments below. Personally I hope they bring out some more soon, a white/cream based polish would look soo pretty!

Til next time,

Claire's Accessories £1 Polish Sale | Part 1

As promised here is the first part of the £1 Polish markdown swatches! I picked up six shimmery colours and swatched those together for this post. Although these are technically sale you can still pick them up on the cosmetics 3 for 2 offer, but hurry as this promotion doesn't usually last for very long! You can still get most of these polishes online, links are provided at the end of this post. If not pop in to your local Claire's and they should hopefully still have some in stock :)

Let's get started! I'd like to mention I am in no way a brilliant swatcher. I've tried my best to provide an accurate representation, so uh, let's just leave it at that :P

First up is Metallic Dark Berry. This is described perfectly in the name, and is a little darker on the nails than my camera picked up. I applied two coats to achieve full coverage. There is a lovely gold shimmer in the polish, and it totally reminds me of grapes! The formula is a little on the thick side but still easy to apply.

Teal is another metallic polish that I already had in my collection before it was reduced. This is my favourite out of the bunch, it has a gorgeous teal/blue shift and looks stunning on the nail. I used two coats for full coverage. It has a similar thickness to the Metallic Berry but is still easy to apply. I always feel like a mermaid with this on!

So Couture is a beige/gold shimmer polish. I didn't go much on it but thought i'd pick it up as part of the 3 for 2 and i'm glad I did! I think it suits my skin tone really well and is perfect for a quick neutral mani. The gold shimmer flecks really stands out, especially in the sun! Formula is brilliant, shown is two coats.

Bejewelled is a bright shimmery pink, and my biggest surprise of the bunch. I'm not a pink kinda girl, at least, I never used to be. But this is just stunning! It's a really bright, deep pink with a lot of sparkle. The formula is a little more sheer than the rest, but this only took two coats for full coverage. I'll definitely be using this beauty again soon!

Jealous is another favourite of mine. It's the only one that dries to a satin matte finish, but i prefer it with a shiny top coat. The golden glitter flecks really stand out, and i think it's a perfect festive polish! It's a little sheer, shown below is two coats but I think it could have done with one more. Trust me when i say you need this polish.

Zap is the last out of the shimmery reduced polishes, and my least favourite of the bunch. There's nothing wrong with it, I just don't find the colour as exciting as the name! The formula is pretty sheer, this took three coats. Not much else to say, it's just a classic dark metallic grey which I suppose everyone should have at least one of!

So there you go! Any of those take your fancy? If i had to pick only two it would be Teal and Metallic Red. I have six more to show you tomorrow, although there were a few plain glitters that i didn't pick up, in a red, green and bronze colour. Keep an eye out for tomorrow's post if you liked this one!

I'd like to mention before I go that although I work for Claire's, all products are purchased by myself and under no obligation. All reviews and opinions are my own.

Claire's Accessories Neon Purple Nail Art!

I think by now you all know how much I love using my nifty staff discount to pick up nail polish from work. Today was my last shift after 11 in a row, so i thought that deserved a little treat for myself! We got a new Neon polish in yesterday so i picked it up ready for some nail art for today. It's ultimately the perfect Claire's Accessories purple colour, and looks a million times yummier on your nails!

I went for a gradient and accidentally went further on the blue than purple, so I haven't exactly done a great job of showing off the polish haha! But don't worry, i'm working on a big ol' Claire's swatch post.. so stay tuned for that bad boy :P

For this look I used:
Claire's Accessories - Neon Purple
Sinful Colours - Why Not
Barry M - Black & White Nail Art Pens
Claire's Accessories - Gel Top Coat

Ohh, and look what we had today.. SUN! Was certainly happy to step outside and walk to work in glorious sunshine, even if it was still a little on the cold side. I'll ignore the fact it started raining half an hour later ;)

If you're interested Claire's have a range of about 8 Neon Polish colours at £3 for a bottle. Darker colours can be a one coater (a thick coat) and the lighter colours (yellow and orange) are best painted over a white.

Stress, Work, Babies, Puppies & Nail Art!

Hello you wonderful people!

It feels sooo good to be writing a post again. Haven't done anything sinceee *double checks* OH MY GOD the 7th of November. That's like, 13 whole days of nothingness. Well, I've smacked myself on the wrist and hopefully it wont happen again!

This is just going to be a quick catch up on, well.. me. Just want to explain my absence really. (For those of you who don't want to read, there are photos and you can kind of get the gist of what I've been up to haha!)

I've basically had two crazy weeks at work. It seemed like after my key turn interview i was thrown in at the deep end a little, and I've been running the store quite a bit! We had a really important visit from some top dogs that work at Claire's, and as i was running the two days before they came it was my responsibility to get everything PERFECT. I pulled two crazy shifts and was totally exhausted but it was all worth it when the visit went really well.. Better than expected actually! And despite being shattered before the 'big day' so to speak, i just had to do some nail art using purple and white.. Claire's Accessories colours.

To create this look i used:
Claire's Accessories - Un-named Purple
OPI - Purple Glitter Sand
Seche Vite - Top Coat
Barry M - White Nail Art Pen
Gold Studs - eBay

Now, after a week of running on no sleep, working 24/7 and being completely deprived of any me time.. It's safe to say nails went out the window. You know what manicure i was sporting? None. My nails were butt nekkid. You want to see? I warn you, they aren't pretty.

Had to pop a filter on to hide that sexy yellow nail colour i have right now ;)

But it's not all gloom and doom! Remember me mentioning my sister in this post? Well more importantly, her bump? ..I'm an auntie! :D Not so little baby Grace was born on Thursday 14th November, and i couldn't be prouder of my sister. Now this is a photo you want to see..

Say hi to Grace everyone!

Me getting first cuddles!

Isn't she just scrumptious? :D

So hopefully you can all let me off, I haven't been slacking I've just been a very busy bee! I finally had two days off on Monday and Tuesday though, and i guess i could have spent it painting my nails but i did have another offer.. Doing manicures, or cuddling up with four dogs and five puppies?

I chose puppies. Meet Pickle.

Can you really blame me? :P

Well that's it for my catch up post, hope you enjoyed reading it! I'm not entirely sure how i'm going to catch up with the 33DC, i'll probably resume it on Friday and then post a couple of catch ups at a time. I'll also do a £1 Polish post tomorrow, just ignore the fact it isn't Wednesday ;P

TTFN! Becky x

£1 Polish Wednesday!

Hi there!

So today i bring you my usual £1 Polish Wednesday post.. only with two polishes! Since i forgot to post a £1PW last week i thought i'd show you two beautiful colours this week because im nice like that :P

So i present to you two gorgeous polishes, both from Claire's Accessories and both at the bargain price of one pound! This post is very picture heavy, mainly because i couldn't eliminate any photo's as the sparkles are just so pretty haha!

I used the dusky pink as a base and then topped it off with a holographic purple glitter top coat. The pink polish looks lovely on and has a matte finish, but is a little tricky when it comes to application. I found you had to paint fast, and in three quick sweeps. Forget fiddling, once it's on the nail that's it! It is worth it though, plus it dries super fast.
As for the purple glitter.. well what can i say. It is stunning. If i could marry a polish, this would be one of my.. uhh.. partner choices? Yeah im not sure where i was going with that. Anyway! I only had to apply one coat to achieve this amount of glitter coverage, but i have no doubt you could overload a lot more on with another coat. But less chat, more photos!

In direct sunlight:

Blurred to show off that pretty glitter:

And in natural light:

So there we are, a nice pretty manicure that only cost £2.. yippee!

Just before i wrap up the post i thought i'd mention that today's 33DC challenge post will be up tomorrow due to work getting in the way of doing my nails!

See you tomorrow, Becky x
